EDU 350 - Reading to Learn in the Content Area 3 Credit Hour(s) Laboratory: 0 Recitation: 3 Alternative Mode: 0
This course is part of Ohio’s required 12 Semester-Hour Reading Core. This course emphasizes tools and techniques to help students process and learn from content materials, including understanding text structure, general and specific vocabulary, comprehension strategies, forms of discourse, and research in reading. Focus will be on learning to read, reading to learn, and finding and assessing age-appropriate materials and resources. (Spring)
Prerequisite(s): C- or higher in EDU 310 , EDU 320 ; minimum 2.85 GPA. Corequisite(s): Taken concurrently with one of the following EDU 366 , EDU 376 , EDU 386 , or EDU 396 (AYA); or two of the following EDU 360 , EDU 373 , EDU 380 , or EDU 390 (Middle Childhood); or EDU 322 and EDU 323 (Primary).
