EIS 427 - Student Teaching: Middle Childhood Education

Teacher candidates are placed with a qualified mentor teacher and university supervisor in a classroom setting for a minimum of 12 full weeks. Teacher candidates are expected to maintain all responsibilities of the mentor teacher including developing and implementing all instruction, assessments, classroom management, and professional activities. Teacher candidates pursuing the intervention specialist license take this course for 5 credit hours and EIS 429 for 5 credit hours. This course will meet the Capstone experience requirement. (Spring)

Prerequisite(s): C- or higher in EDU 346, and whichever two courses apply to the area of licensure; EDU 360, EDU 373, EDU 380, EDU 390; minimum 2.85 GPA. Must earn state passing scores on all state mandated tests required for the licensure area.
