CHM 445 - Advanced Laboratory Techniques I 3 Credit Hour(s) Laboratory: 2 Recitation: 1 Alternative Mode: 0
An interdisciplinary laboratory experience intended to draw connections between the various chemistry subdisciplines: analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical. Students will investigate contemporary chemical issues using spectrophotometry, chromatography, electrochemistry, synthesis, purification, and characterization. The use of research literature, writing, and oral presentation skills are emphasized. This course along with CHM 446 will meet the Capstone experience requirement for biochemistry and chemistry majors. (Spring)
Prerequisite(s): C- or higher in BCH 316 and BCH 316L . Fulfills Gen Ed 2011-2021: Writing There is an additional fee with this course.
