Heidelberg is committed to providing registered nurses the opportunity to complete a baccalaureate nursing degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing – BSN) in order to advance their nursing careers. These RN-BSN Completion Pathway nurses will gain knowledge and skills through courses that build on a foundation of the Liberal Arts and their basic nursing education. The RN-BSN Completion Pathway is convenient and accessible to working nurses via an online format that provides flexibility for project completion. The RN-BSN Completion Pathway graduates will be prepared to enter the local, state, and global arenas with skills necessary to lead a life of distinction as they work in healthcare organizations and in communities.
Admission Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited associate degree or diploma nursing program.
- Hold a current, valid, and unencumbered RN license to practice as a registered nurse in Ohio, a US state or territory (except for Arizona, California, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Tennessee), or be a graduate of an RN program and eligible for the NCLEX licensing program. (Unencumbered license, in this case, is one that has never been subjected to formal discipline by any state board of nursing such as reprimand, subject to restrictions, suspension, or revocation.)
- Satisfactorily pass a background check and drug screen, if obtained within 3 months of admission.
- Submit accurate and current documentation such as health form and record of immunizations.
- Submit official transcripts to Heidelberg University Admissions department.

Clinical Requirements
Prior to attending clinicals in NRS 440 and NRS 470, students must satisfactorily complete a new FBI/BCI check, a 9 or 10-panel set of lab values, and a drug screen prior to entering into the clinical site. Other requirements may apply, depending on the site requirements for clinical experiences. Clinical site contracts will outline site requirements at the time a site is selected and a supervisor/ preceptor is identified. If a clinical is at the student’s employer site, these values must be submitted by the clinical organization prior to entering into these aforementioned courses. (It is recommended these checks be completed the semester prior to the two aforementioned clinical courses because delays in results can occur.)
