The Department of Computer Science offers an interdisciplinary major in Data Analytics. The ability to wrangle, interpret, and visualize data is essential in the modern world. All areas of commerce, education, government, the sciences, and even the nonprofit sector are increasingly data-driven. In this major, students complete a combination of coursework to develop marketable skills in data management; data research, analysis, and visualization; data mining; and machine learning. Data analytics graduates will have a solid foundation in fundamental concepts and techniques and will be able to apply these skills to communicate meaningful results to the organization. Graduates will also be well prepared for further study in this growing field. A minor in Data Analytics is also available.
