CHM 104 - General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry

Introduction to chemical principles for the allied health professions. This course covers principles in general chemistry needed for an understanding of introductory organic and biochemical principles. Topics covered include: measurement, dimensional analysis, atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions, states of matter, solutions, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, align with topics in organic and biological chemistry. Three recitations and an optional one 3-hour laboratory period, CHM 104L, per week.

Prerequisite(s): Placement into MTH 120  or higher or successful completion of MTH 100 .
Corequisite(s): Students electing this course to meet their General Education requirement for laboratory science must take both CHM 104 and CHM 104L in the same semester.
