MTH 100 - Mathematics Foundations 1 Credit Hour(s) Laboratory: 0 Recitation: 1 Alternative Mode: 0
Instruction and practice in essential mathematical skills to prepare students for success in subsequent mathematics-based courses required for their majors and/or the university’s General Education curriculum. Through a blend of hands-on activities and guided problem-solving, students will deepen their understanding of core mathematical concepts. Topics covered include arithmetic operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, algebraic expressions, linear equations, geometry basics, and introductory statistics. Emphasis is placed on building confidence and accuracy in calculations, understanding algebraic structures, and developing problem-solving strategies. Enrollment in this course is restricted to students who have not successfully placed into a MTH course numbered 114 or higher. Students must successfully meet that placement level by the end of this course. This course does not fulfill any General Education distribution requirements or the degree requirements of any major. (Fall, Spring as needed)
