MTH 120 - College Algebra 3 Credit Hour(s) Laboratory: 0 Recitation: 3 Alternative Mode: 0
This course covers basic mathematical skills necessary to succeed in natural science classes. Students will learn basic algebraic concepts, solving and graphing equalities and inequalities, and their application in linear models, operations on real and complex numbers, quadratic, polynomial and rational functions, and the solution of systems of equations and inequalities. The properties of exponential and logarithmic functions and exponential models are also covered. This course is intended for students who do not place into MTH 121 . A graphing calculator (TI-83, TI-84, or equivalent) is required. (Fall, Spring)
Prerequisite(s): Placement into MTH 120 or higher, or C- or higher in MTH 090 . Fulfills Gen Ed 2011-2021: Quant Lit GE 2025 +: Math-Based Course
