EDU 345 - Social Studies and Advanced Research Methods in Primary Education

The focus of this course is on social studies content and instructional practices. Emphasis will be placed on Ohio history and content specific to the four strands of social studies: government, economics, history, and geography. Candidates will make interdisciplinary connections through the development and implementation of an integrated social studies unit within their field placement. Candidates will complete a three-semester-long research project to fulfill a writing requirement for the education program. 50 hours field experience required. (Fall)

Prerequisite(s): C- or higher in EDU 320 , EDU 322 , EDU 323 , EDU 350 ; minimum 2.85 GPA.
