EDU 323 - Scientific Literacy and Methods in Primary Education

This course will address the development of scientific understanding in primary education students through engagement in scientific inquiry and reasoning in scientific contexts. Students will not only gain scientific content knowledge, but also understand that science is a set of practices. Essential elements of science and engineering practices will be embedded into experiential learning and real-world problem solving. A pilot study based on students’ literature reviews developed in EDU 320  will be implemented. 25 hours field experience required. (Spring)

Prerequisite(s): EDU 320 ; minimum 2.85 GPA.
Corequisite(s): EDU 322 , EDU 350 .
