The major in Human Resource Management is designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge to prepare for a career in human resources and to establish proficiency in content areas that are recommended by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). These areas include and overview of behavioral competencies, such as business acumen and relationship management, human resource development, workforce planning, compensation and benefits, labor relations and employment law, performance management, training and development, risk management, HR technology, and strategic business management.
