Criminology (CRM)

The School of Behavioral Sciences offers a major and minor in Criminology, which considers the theoretical and practical aspects of criminogenic factors in American society.The program focuses on the application of psychological and sociological theories to understand criminal behavior, with emphasis on conducting and critiquing social science research as it applies to policies impacting the criminal justice system. 

A student majoring in Crimonology may not also minor in Crimonolgy. 

Psychology (PSY)

The School of Behavioral Sciences offers a major and minor in Psychology.  A general major course of study and a minor course of study. At completion of the major, the student should demonstrate: A) a knowledge base in psychology; B) the development of scientific reasoning and problem solving, including effective research methods; C) ethical and social responsibility in a diverse world; and D) competence in writing and in oral communication skills. The program entails completion of a core set of psychology requirements.

A student majoring in Psychology may not also minor in Psychology.

Sociology (SOC)

The School of Behavioral Sciences offers a minor in Sociology.  Sociology helps us look more objectively at our society and other societies. It directs attention to how the parts of society fit together and change, and the consequences of that social change. We are faced with an ever increasingly complex and rapidly changing social milieu in modern industrial-bureaucratic societies. Sociology is the study of society and collective behavior. It is a social science relying on the critical analysis of data and social theory to understand how groups, institutions, networks, and social structures impact the mental and physical well-being of individuals.
