EDGE 553 - Middle Level Science/Math Pedagogy

Prepares classroom teachers with the conceptual knowledge and skills needed to teach 4th and 5th grade science and math. Ohio’s Learning Standards in Science and Math will be examined in context with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). The overriding goal is to ensure that teachers are able to adequately teach the science concepts outlined in Ohio’s Learning Standards including all strands (earth and space sciences, physical sciences, and life sciences) and topics.
