NRS 430 - Nursing Research and Evidence Application

This course is designed to assist students in reading, comprehending, and applying nursing research and evaluating the research process. The connections between research, theory and practice will be explored. Students will also develop a knowledge base of research terminology and methods that will enable them to appropriately critique qualitative, quantitative, and mixed studies of nursing research. Research processes such as ethical practices, data collection, appraisal of current research, and integrating evidence for clinical practice through critical appraisal will be explored. Research across the global nursing field will be reviewed and integrated into discussions and assignments. Emphasis is on the critique and application of research findings as they relate to nursing theory and practice. This course meets the Capstone requirement.

Prerequisite(s): Post-licensure nursing major.
